Ulrik Motzfeldt today announces Arctic Defences 1.1,

Artic Defences 1.1,a maintenance update to his popular game title for iOS devices. Arctic Defences takes gamers onto a frozen polar zone that is being overrun by over 20 different types of zombie enemies who are surprisingly resilient, extremely angry, and determined to win at all costs. This game gets tougher and tougher as gamers make their way through over 20 levels, and engage in epic battles across islands, mountains and tundra.

Cupertino, California – When most people think of the Arctic, they imagine vast fields of snow and ice, frigid temperatures, beautiful panoramic landscapes, and perhaps the occasional walrus or polar bear sighting. However, app developer Ulrik Motzfeldt had something rather different in mind when he created the new no-cost iOS app Arctic Defences – because instead of walruses and polar bears, his unique vision of the Arctic is full of zombies and battles.

Described by an impressed reviewer as “the best Arctic tower defense game ever!”, Arctic Defences takes gamers onto a frozen polar zone that is being overrun by over 20 different types of zombie enemies – including infantry and aviation – who are surprisingly resilient, extremely angry, and determined to win at all costs. To stop the invaders and protect freedom and liberty, gamers must mobilize units comprised of gunners and snipers and attack with rockets and six different guns. Gamers can also update their units in the laboratory or upgrade weapons in order to win more battles.

And speaking of winning battles: the app provides gamers with an analysis of each enemy – including data on health, speed, weaknesses, etc. – that can be used to gain an advantage on the battlefield. Sometimes, the app even provides hints on the weapon that must be used to defeat an enemy. Furthermore, Arctic Defences gets tougher and tougher as gamers make their way through over 20 levels, and engage in epic battles across islands, mountains and tundra. This is a welcome change from most other defence-style apps, which quickly become predictable and boring.

Other Arctic Defences special features include:
* Crisp, colorful graphics
* An outstanding soundtrack and sound effects
* An intuitive interface that enhances overall gameplay

“To succeed and survive in Arctic Defences, gamers will need to rely on much more than luck,” commented Ulrik Motzfeldt. “The over 20 kinds of angry enemies they’ll face are smart, organized and surprisingly crafty. Defeating them requires the right combination of strategy, tactics, planning, and timing!”

Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
* Requires iOS 6.1 or later
* 70.5 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Arctic Defences 1.1, the new no-cost iOS app that is an epic multi-level battle vs. zombie invaders across islands, mountains and tundra, is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Games category.

Trapped today introduces Psycho Escape 1.0

Psycho Escape,its thrilling new game title for iOS and Android. A psycho killer is on the prowl. He knows where his victim is and follows every action. Users must skillfully solve a variety of mind-bending mysteries and puzzles and make their way through various levels, or else become a relentless killer’s next victim. With multiple items to collect and use along the way, this game features crisp, high definition graphics and scenes designed with meticulous detail.

There are two distinct types of horror-genre “escape” type games in the app world. The first type – which, sadly, includes overwhelming majority of them – is predictable, uncreative, boring, and sometimes even laughable. However, the other type is spellbinding, original, challenging and, most important of all: completely thrilling. Fortunately, the new no-cost release from Trapped entitled Psycho Escape is definitely in the latter category.

Available now for iPhone/iPad and coming very soon for Android devices, The Psycho Escape back story is the stuff of nightmares – which means that it’s wonderfully terrifying and vividly unforgettable. It goes like this: A psycho killer is on the prowl. He knows where his victim is, and follows every action. He’s also relentless, and won’t stop until he completes his murderous mission. Worse, he seems to get some kind of sadistic pleasure from phoning his victims and telling them that there’s no escape.

That phone call is where Psycho Escape beings. Users realize that they can’t close the doors, lock the windows, or even call the police – because there may not be enough time for help to arrive. As such, they must concentrate on staying calm, so they can skillfully solve a variety of mind-bending mysteries and puzzles, and make their way through various levels. If successful, users will eventually wake up from this nightmare in a triumphant display of sheer courage and survivability. If they fail…well, let’s just say that the game doesn’t promise them much of a happy ending (although they can start over if they wish).

Key Psycho Escape features that will have users playing long, long into the night include:
* Crisp, high definition graphics and scenes designed with meticulous detail – for example, the drab fluorescent lighting in the morgue is flawless
* Multiple items to collect and use along the way
* Chilling music to accompany users as they scramble to survive
* A variety of customizable user settings (e.g. volume, pause, gamepad, etc.)

“As reported by LiveScience.com, the reason people love horror movies so much because they want to be emotionally affected and experience powerful suspense,” commented a spokesperson from Trapped. “However, most apps that try and capture this essence fall short, and end up putting users to sleep! And that’s why we spent so much time creating Psycho Escape. It’s a truly thrilling, spellbinding experience that will keep users on the edge of their seats, and have them wondering: will I escape and survive…or will I be the next victim?”

Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
* Optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6/6 Plus
* Requires iOS 6.0 or later
* 77.1 MB

Pricing and Availability

Psycho Escape 1.0, the thrilling new no-cost escape game that features multiple puzzles, mysteries, levels – and a relentless killer, is available worldwide through the App Store in the Games category. There is also an Android version available on Google Play.

BinaryFruit announces DriveDx 1.4

DriveDx 1.4,its latest solution for SSD and HDD health diagnostics and monitoring. As Mac OS X does not have a comprehensive drive health indicator, DriveDx fills a critical role in measuring the overall health of both SSD and HDD drives. Because DriveDx tracks more indicators of impending failure than any other product on the market, users will get advanced warning before their drives fail.

San Francisco, United States – BinaryFruit today is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of DriveDx 1.4.0, its latest solution for SSD and HDD health diagnostics and monitoring. As Mac OS X does not have a comprehensive drive health indicator, DriveDx fills a critical role in measuring the overall health of both SSD and HDD drives. Because DriveDx tracks more indicators of impending failure than any other product on the market, users will get advanced warning before their drives fail. This will allow them to take action to avert the failure, and save themselves from resulting data loss and downtime.

Unlike many other drive health diagnostics utilities that simply check built-in S.M.A.R.T. status, DriveDx performs overall drive health diagnostics using drive health indicators (like SSD wear out / endurance, reallocated bad sectors, offline bad sectors, pending sectors, I/O errors, and more) that most closely correlate with drive failures according to the statistics reported in the latest researches focused on identifying drive failure trends. This gives a user a comprehensive picture of a current drive health status and enables foreseeing potential problems with drive failure and loss of sensitive data. Moreover, DriveDx shows this information on a user-friendly Mac-style interface in an easy-to-understand format.

“Here’s a DriveDx triumph. DriveDx showed my just out of AppleCare iMac with two pre-fail conditions for the hard drive. Made appointment and took it to Genius Bar yesterday. Tech looked at DriveDx and was very impressed. Even though out of warranty – they replaced the drive without question,” said Michael Sidoric, CapMac User Group Treasurer, ex-Vice President of CapMac.org. “God knows how many dollars and troubles DriveDx saved me since I had several vital FinalCut projects on it.”

DriveDx is a combined drive health analysis and forecasting tool. It monitors and analyzes changes to S.M.A.R.T. attributes in order to continuously evaluate drive health status and predict drive failures. In addition to “Failed” and “OK” drive statutes DriveDx supports “Warning” and “Failing” statuses indicating that a drive is in a pre-failure status and backup of sensitive data is highly recommended.

DriveDx performs both SSD and HDD health diagnostics. Moreover, it uses a separate set of indicators for SSD and HDD to monitor drive health status. This is particularly important as SSD works different from HDD, and requires a different algorithm to check its health status. Also, SDDs typically are more dependent on firmware than HDDs, and DriveDx has been programmed to support many versions of firmware (please see our website for a complete list of supported firmware).

DriveDx allows configuring the delivery of customized drive status and free space reports by e-mail and therefore does not require user presence to inform about drive status changes. In addition DriveDx can launch built-in drive diagnostics self-tests. Drive self-tests will help to quickly identify if the drive is faulty.

DriveDx is the first utility of its kind to have a real user-friendly Mac-style interface. It is organized in a way that allows a user to view and understand drive status and its performance at a glance. User can switch between different view modes to drill up or down data related to drive health, including S.M.A.R.T. indicators and attributes, drive statistics and errors.

What’s New in DriveDx 1.4.0:
* Support of Yosemite (OS X 10.10) dark UI mode
* More “flat” UI on Yosemite (OS X 10.10)
* User now can turn-off (suppress) S.M.A.R.T. attribute (health indicator) raw value alert
* Improved support of recent SSD and HDD models
* Improved drive health diagnostic algorithms and heuristics
* Improved health indicator (SMART attribute) descriptions and hints
* Health indicator raw value tooltip with extended info: last modified time, value delta, status, recommendations, etc
* “Last modified” field for each health indicator in reports
* Many stability improvements
* Many cosmetic tweaks and fixes

DriveDx feature highlights:
* Support of modern SSDs and HDDs
* SSD lifetime left indicator
* Different routines for SSD and HDD health evaluation
* Real-time SSD & HDD health status monitoring
* User friendly and intuitive UI
* Multi-tier warning system that will inform the user about deviations from the normal state of drive attributes
* Diagnostic Knowledge Base online auto-updating
* Drive overall health rating
* Drive overall performance rating (if drive supports this subset of indicators)
* Device statistics
* I/O errors monitoring
* Drive free space monitoring
* Support of drive short and full (extended) self-tests
* Sending a warning whenever a problem with a Firmware exists
* Saving detailed drive status reports to a file
* Warning a user with pop-up notifications about errors and failures
* Displaying drive status on a status bar
* Runs natively on Mac OS X

System Requirements:
* Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer

* Personal License – $19.99 (USD)
* Family License – $39.99
* Business License – starting from $99.99

RedleX today introduces Mellel 3.4

Mellel 3,4,the iPad version of their popular word processor. Mellel for iPad brings power and sophistication in word-processing to the iPad. The app offers advanced features such as auto-titles, outline, paragraph, character, page and section styles, tables, track-changes, comments and statistics, and more. Mellel for iPad introduces several innovative features, and complete compatibility with its sibling, the acclaimed Mellel for Mac.

Tel Aviv, Israel –  Mellel for iPad, brings the power and sophistication to word-processing on the iPad. Developed by RedleX, Mellel for iPad introduces several innovative features, and the power and reliability that made its sibling, the acclaimed Mellel for Mac, the word-processor of choice for long document writing on the Mac. Mellel for iPad is now available at the App store.

Mellel for iPad fills a distinct void. There are numerous writing applications for iPad – but none fits the specific requirements of iPad users who wish to enjoy a writing tool that can handle and manage long and complex documents. Mellel for iPad offers advanced features such as Auto-titles, Outline, Paragraph, Character, Page and Section styles, Tables, Track-changes, Comments and Statistics, and in addition offers complete compatibility with the advanced word-processor Mellel for Mac. That means  elements such as citations, cross-reference, find and replace, multi-lingual features, and a host of other features do not ‘get lost’ when moving between iPad and the Mac.

Mellel for iPad introduces several features unique features. Its Outline enables users to navigate a long document with ease, hoping from one heading or caption to the other. To makes navigation even easier, one can zoom out to a 2 or 4Up view, making things easy skipping between various parts of a document.

One of the tasks regularly performed by iPad users is tweaking, commenting and fixing existing documents, created elsewhere or by others. Mellel for iPad offers users the ability to track changes (i.e., enter changes which are provisory until accepted) and comments. Users can also highlight text with Markers.

Styles are the bane of word processing. They rarely work as expected, and when they do, they are rarely consistent. Mellel for the Mac have always emphasised consistency, neatly separating the paragraph and character styles. As a result, styles in Mellel do not muddle the results but help keep them consistent. Mellel for iPad carries on this tradition, supporting styles from its Mac sibling and making it easy to use and apply styles in a document.

Another feature in Mellel is support for special keyboards, allowing access to some handy Math and Numbers, Signs and Symbols, Accents, and Polytonic Greek characters, and even Hebrew points and trope marks, sorely missed with word-processors on iPad until now.

In addition to those, Mellel for iPad offers supports for Lists, smart word count (you can enjoy statistics for just about every element, from images to hyperlinks, paragraphs or lines), notes (footnotes, endnotes, and author notes, and so on), lists, paragraph and character styling, tables, break marks, and so on.

To wrap things up, Mellel for iPad fully supports the display of every feature from Mellel for the Mac. For example, citations, cross-references and custom-tailored headings created on the Mac will display correctly on iPad and will be returned, unharmed, after editing. Documents can be exported via eMail and cloud apps (e.g., DropBox or Box). Documents can also be moved between places (folders) on the iPad, so they’re available from any other machine via iCloud.

Device Requirements:
* Compatible with iPad
* Requires iOS 8.1 or later
* 7.3 MB

Pricing and Availability

Mellel for iPad 3.4 is $19.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide through the App Store in the Productivity category.
